(Portland, OR) -- A Portland woman is facing a bias crime charge for allegedly attacking a stranger for being white. Police say 42-year-old Nimo Kalinle got off a bus stop in North Portland and began punching a woman waiting there with her husband and daughter. When she asked why she was being hit, Kalinle reportedly said because "you're white and I hate white people." The woman's husband managed to restrain the attacker until officers showed up. Kalinle has been charged with counts of assault and bias crime, as well as criminal mischief and disorderly conduct for throwing rocks through bus shelters elsewhere.
