Machete Attack Suspect Indicted

(Portland, OR)  --  A 51-year-old man is charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a man in the face with a machete.  A Multnomah County grand jury has indicted Todd Hike for attempted murder and assault for the stabbing that left the man with injuries to the head, face and eye.  The attack happened on April 9th near MLK and Madison in Southeast Portland.  When police arrived, they say Hike was on top of the victim and armed with a 13-inch-long machete.  He allegedly tried to stab the victim again, but an officer grabbed Hike's arm and the blade missed the victim by two inches.  Hike was taken into custody.  The victim is expected to survive.
