(Portland, OR) -- A man is facing charges after allegedly trying to break into a business and then running from police into a nearby grocery store. It happened yesterday morning in northeast Portland. Police say 36-year-old Matthew Medlin was attempting to break into the Snack Shack at the Gateway Transit Station when officers confronted him. Medlin then allegedly ran from police into the nearby Winco Food Stores. Officers found him in the stockroom and arrested him after a brief struggle in which he falsely claimed to have a gun. No serious injuries were reported.
