Mayor Wheeler Unveils Proposals For Change, Police Reform

(Portland, OR)  --  Mayor Ted Wheeler is unveiling his plan for change as protesters continue calling for racial justice and an end to police brutality.  Wheeler introduced a series of proposals yesterday.  Wheeler says he plans to redirect seven-million dollars from the Portland Police Bureau and five-million dollars from other city funds to put towards programs to help communities of color.  Portland will also dissolve PPB's Gun Violence Reduction Team and ban officers from using chokeholds.
