Protesters March On Fremont Bridge

(Portland, OR)  --  Protesters in Portland continue to call for an end to police brutality and systemic racism in law enforcement.  Hundreds of protesters gathered at Jefferson High School last night, where they listened to speeches before marching onto the top deck of the Fremont Bridge on southbound I-405.  The protesters then rallied on the bridge for about two hours before heading back to Jefferson High.  A separate group of protesters gathered outside the Justice Center downtown.  Protesters have been calling for change nationwide following the death of George Floyd, a black man who was killed when a police officer knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes in Minneapolis.
