Two People Killed In Apparent Murder-Suicide In SE Portland

(Portland, OR)  --  Two people are dead following an apparent murder-suicide that prompted a shelter-in-place order in southeast Portland.  The Portland Police Bureau says officers were performing a welfare check at a home near Southeast 138th Drive and Deardorf Drive last night when they spotted a woman lying on the ground and forced their way inside.  Once inside the home, officers heard a gunshot and retreated to call in the special emergency reaction team to send a robot into the home.  The team found a man wounded inside the home and rushed him to a hospital, where he died.  The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.  The incident prompted police to issue a shelter-in-place order for residents within a six-block radius.
