(Portland, OR)  --  A man is facing charges after allegedly using a slingshot to shoot a Portland Fire & Rescue medic.  Police say 37-year-old Jesse Bates hit the medic in the chest with a metal ball bearing early yesterday morning.  The medic suffered some bruising but was not seriously injured.  It's not yet clear what the suspect's motive was.
