(Portland, OR)  --  Governor Kate Brown says yesterday's conviction of Derek Chauvin in the murder of George Floyd is one step toward the goal of racial justice and police reform.  In a statement released after the verdict announcement yesterday, Brown says there's still much work to be done to dismantle the structures of racism and inequality.  She says the nation grieves for the loss of George Floyd and honor his memory by continuing the hard work to increase police accountability.
