U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley says the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7th was "horrific", but calls Israel's response "deeply disturbing". Merkley is calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, allowed by the release of all hostages by Hamas. House Representative Earl Blumenauer of Oregon is also calling for a pause of hostilities, saying the violence must stop.
