Oregon State Hospital In Immediate Jeopardy Status

(Salem, OR)  --  The Oregon State Hospital in Salem is in immediate jeopardy of losing its eligibility for federal Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement.  Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services surveyors put the hospital in immediate jeopardy status while investigating a patient death in the admission's department.  They noticed that the emergency response equipment was not located in one room.  Interim Hospital Superintendent Dr. Sara Walker says they've fixed the problem, and they're creating an immediate jeopardy removal plan describing how and when any remaining issues will be corrected.
