The Seattle Mariners enjoyed a day off yesterday and will get back to work tonight hoping to win their 9th straight game when they host the Houston Astros.

The M’s are 8-1/2 games back of the A-L West division leading Rangers with 16-games to play in the regular season.

In Kansas City, the A’s complete a 4-game sweep pounding the Royals, 14-to-5.

From the National League…the Dodgers lose 7-3 in Arizona and the Giants beat the Cardinals 6-2. SF gains ground on L-A and now only 4 back of the N-L West lead.
