A local tie with the CFL

And, while the NFL works toward the playoffs a month away…the Canadian Football League crowned its Champion Sunday in the 104th ‘Grey Cup’ as Ottawa defeated Calgary, 39-33.

The Red Blacks won the Title with a 41 year old quarterback Henry Burris who threw for 461 yards and 3-TD’s. One of Ottawa’s Offensive Assistant Coaches is former Bend High School graduate and Quarterback Beau (bow) Walker who joined the staff this season after spending last fall with Nebraska as an Assistant Coach to Mike Riley. Walker is the son of former Bend Coach and Athletic Director Craig Walker and was a graduate Assistant at Oregon State from 2008 to 2014.
