High School Basketball

7th ranked Mt. View held its top position in the IMC by crushing 9th ranked Bend on the Lava Bears home court last night, 74-55. The loss puts Bend in 3rd place with one game to play in the IMC boys regular season.

The Cougars lead #10 Summit by 1-game and will host the Storm in the Black Hole at Mt. View Friday night with the League banner up for grabs. A Summit win forces a first-place tiebreaker. The Cougars win the IMC Title outright with a victory.

Meantime, they settled the 2nd place tie in the Tri-Valley Conference
last night as Madras defeated Crook County, 74-68 on the White Buffs home floor. Madras locks up the #2 playoff spot in the League and will host a Play-In game this weekend. Crook County secures the third and final postseason berth but will travel this weekend.

We’ll know later today who both teams will meet in the next round.

Tonight, the Single-A first round playoffs tipoff and Trinity Lutheran makes the trek to Jordan Valley for a 6pm start, Mountain Time.

On the Girl’s side of hoops last night…Bend crushed Mt. View, 76-29 and Ridgeview beat Redmond by 13, 64-51. The 6th ranked Lady Lava Bears finish the regular season meeting Redmond Friday, and will have no worse than a share of the League Title with Ridgeview as Bend holds the tiebreaker over the Ravens and will be the #1 seed in the playoffs, regardless.

The Madras girls already clinched the Tri-Valley and added to its now
14-game win streak beating Crook County last night, 59-24.
