(New York, NY) -- Major League Baseball is turning to an outside source to help end the league's current lockout. ESPN reports the MLB requested the immediate assistance of a federal mediator to help resolve its situation. This comes after the league and the MLB players association failed to come to terms on a new collective bargaining agreement after multiple weeks of negotiations. It's reported that the MLB contacted the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service with hopes of getting a deal done with a third party involved. The MLBPA would have to agree to the mediator for it to intervene.
