California Could Try To Block UCLA Move To Big 10

The State of California might try to keep UCLA from leaving the Pac-12.  UCLA and cross-town rival, privately-run USC announced last week they plan to join the Big 10 in 2024 but UCLA didn't provide advance notice to the University of California Board of Regents.  The Board governs the University of California school system and Governor Gavin Newsom, who chairs the Board, said on Monday the state is looking into legal action.  There are reports that UCLA likely didn't need formal approval by the Board of Regents and had support for the move from some Board members.
