Bend Elks Drop 6th Straight 8-6 to Ridgefield

The Bend Elks picked up their 6th straight loss after falling to Ridgefield 8-6. The Raptors jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning and knocked bend starter Grant Faris off the bump after 2.2 innings. Bend plated 4 runs in the 7th and one more in the 9th but fell short to earn their 18th loss of the season.

A look at the standings reveals the Elks to be in a tie for last in the second half at 5-8. The Portland Pickles hold a 2 and a half-game lead over Ridgefield for the second playoff spot in the South Division. Corvallis claimed the first entry after capturing the first-half league title.

Bend has a chance to right the ship tonight in game 2 of a 3 game set with Ridgefield. Kids get in free tonight at Vince Genna Stadium. The first pitch is at 6:35.
