Giants Hire Pete Putila As GM

The San Francisco Giants have their new general manager.  The team announced Monday that it's bringing on Astros assistant GM Pete Putila to become its general manager.  Putila will replace Scott Harris after he was hired by the Tigers in September.  Putila will work under president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi.  The 33-year-old spent the last 12 seasons in the Astros organization.
