Ducks, Cougs Fall; Beavs, Huskies Rise In Polls

College Football:  

Oregon dropped to number 9 in the Associated Press poll but fell all the way to 11th in the Coaches poll.  

Washington moved up to number 5 in both polls after the Huskies 36 to 33 win. 

Oregon Coach Dan Lanning was quick to accept blame for the loss saying the team should have punted rather than have gone for it on 4th down late in the game. 

The Ducks are back home Saturday against Washington State who fell out of the polls after losing to Arizona.

Oregon State moved up to number 12 in the AP and 13 in the Coaches, after the decisive win against UCLA. 

OSU, now 6 and 1 is off for a week before going to Tucson on the 28th to face Arizona.

NFL:

The Seahawks outgained the Bengals in total offense and most stat categories…including turnovers. Seattle comes away from Cincinnati 3 and 2 after losing 17 to 13. 

The state of Ohio was rough for the 49ers also. They fell 19 to 17 to the Browns. San Francisco’s offense was held to 215 yards. Christian McCaffery and Deebo Samuel both got banged up in the loss. The 9ers stay on the road, going to Minnesota next Monday night.

Basketball:

NBA-The Trail Blazers get their final chance for a pre-season tune-up tonight in Phoenix. The team showed some bright spots Saturday night against Utah. The Regular season begins next week on the 25th.  Tip-off against the Suns is at 7 tonight.

Soccer:

The Portland Thorns will get a bye to start the NWSL Playoffs. They lost to Angel City 5 to 1 yesterday putting them in second place to finish the season. The Thorns will face the winner of Gotham FC vs North Carolina in the Semi-finals November 5th.
