Summit 5A Boys Soccer Champs...Storm, Cougars To Football 5A Semis

High School playoffs:
Soccer State 5A Final- the Summit Boys beat Hood River Valley to win the title. 
 
The Cougars and Storm advance to the Football 5A semifinals this week. Mountain View will take on Silverton, and Summit faces Wilsonville, which is a rematch of last year’s Final. Both Bend teams are on the road Friday.
 
NFL: 
The 49ers blew out Jacksonville 34 to 3 yesterday to end the losing streak in convincing fashion. Brock Purdy threw three touchdowns, and the defense held the Jaguars offense to 221 yards.  San Francisco moves to 6 and 3 
 
Seattle beat Washington 29 to 26 on a game winning field goal as time expired. Kicker Jason Myers was 5 for 5 on field goal tries. Geno Smith threw 2 TDs. 
Seattle and San Francisco are tied atop the NFC West with the 9ers holding the tiebreaker.
 
Basketball:
NBA:
Portland kept it close for much of the night in Los Angeles, even trading the lead back and forth but eventually lost to the Lakers last night 116 to 110. Jerami Grant was again the leading scorer with 23 points.  On Saturday the Blazers learned rookie point guard Scoot Henderson will miss two to three weeks to recover from a bone bruise in his sprained ankle.
 
CBB- The Oregon State Women beat Villanova yesterday to move to 2 and 0.
 
College Football:
 
Oregon State thrashed Stanford 62-17 on Saturday and moved up to number 10 in both the Associated Press and Coaches Polls. 
 
The Ducks remained at 6 in both polls after beating USC 36 to 27 behind another outstanding performance from quarterback Bo Nix.
 
Washington stayed Number 5 after the Utah win.
