Blazers Fall To Jazz...Beavs #11, Ducks Stay #6 CFB Playoff Ranking

Portland lost to the Jazz 115 to 99 last night in their group stage game of the In-Season tournament. The Blazers kept it close for most of the game but went cold in the 4th quarter to fall to 1 and 1 in group play. Jerami Grant had 26 points. Deandre Ayton showed up with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Next up is Cleveland tonight back at the Moda Center. The Cavs will also be playing short-handed due to injuries. Tip off is at 7.

The Oregon State Men beat Appalachian State 81 to 71 in overtime last night. The Beavers head to Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Saturday to face Nebraska at the Sanford Pentagon.

College Football:

Oregon stayed at number 6 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, right behind Washington. The Ducks are in Tempe Saturday afternoon against Arizona State. Hear head coach Dan Lanning’s thoughts on the game against the Sun Devils during the Oregon Coaches Show tonight at 7:05 here on KBND.

Oregon State moved up to number 11… Linebacker Kitan Oladapo was selected as the Breakout Defensive Player of the Week by the East-West Shrine Bowl. The honor is given weekly to the all-star eligible defensive player who displayed the most NFL traits. Oladapo had two interceptions in the win over Stanford. The Beavers host the number 5 Huskies Saturday afternoon. 

Oregon State and Washington State won in court yesterday. A ruling came down giving the schools full control of the conference governance and assets. The 10 soon to be former Pac 12 schools will file an appeal.

NFL: 

Seattle tackle Abraham Lucas will be back at practice this week for the first time since getting injured in week 1. No word yet if he’ll be ready this Sunday. … This week the Seahawks are on the road at the Los Angeles Rams.

San Francisco is happy to have the luxury of a deep defensive line. The addition of End Chase Young should allow Nick Bosa to play less snaps according to coach Kyle Shanahan. The 49ers are back home to  play Tampa this week.
