Mtn View in 5A Football Final...Football Wrapup

College Football:

Oregon stayed at number six in both the Associated Press and Coaches Polls after the blowout of Arizona State. Quarterback Bo Nix tied a school record with six touchdown passes, all coming in the first half. The win earned head coach Dan Lanning another year on his contract, extending his deal to 2030, it also gave the coach an additional million dollars to that contract. There are more performance add-ons in Lanning’s contract if he wins 11 games this season and makes it to the Pac 12 Championship game.

Oregon State dropped to number 15 in the AP and the Coaches Poll after the 2-point loss to Washington.

The Huskies moved to number four in the AP poll and stayed number five in the Coaches’.

It’s Rivalry week now with huge playoff and bowl implications. The Ducks and Beavers play Friday evening on KBND. The Apple Cup with the Cougs looking to play spoiler against U Dub is Saturday afternoon. 

Despite the break up of the Pac 12 Washington and Washington State announced their rivalry game will continue through at least 2028.

NFL: 

The Seahawks had a heartbreaker in Los Angeles losing 17 to 16 with a missed 55 yard field goal from Jason Myers in the final seconds... Seattle loses both games to the Rams this season dropping them to 6 and 4. Geno Smith left the game with a triceps injury but returned. He’ll be evaluated today. 

The  49ers took out Tampa Bay 27 to 14 with three touchdowns from QB Brock Purdy. Running Back Christian McCaffery also found his way back to the endzone with one of those passes from Purdy. San Francisco leads the NFC West at 7 and 3.

Basketball:

NBA:

The Blazers were blown out by OKC last night 134 to 91. Jerami Grant had 14 points. Portland falls to 3 and 10, losing six in a row. They play Phoenix tomorrow night in an In-Season Tournament game.

CBB:

The Oregon Men’s team plays Florida A&M today. Hear the game on KBND starting at 4:30. Star Center N’Faly Dante will be out again and have his knee evaluated by a specialist this week, according to Coach Dana Altman

Local: 

High School playoffs-  Mountain View will take on Wilsonville in the Football 5A Final this Friday.
