OSU's Smith Goes To Michigan State...Blazers Blow Big Lead

College Football:

Oregon State falling to Oregon wasn’t their biggest loss of the weekend. It was announced Saturday that head coach Jonathon Smith would be accepting the same position at Michigan State. Reports say he may be bringing his top assistants with him, as well. OSU Athletic Director Scott Barnes said a national search would begin immediately. Assistant coach Kefense Hynson has been named interim head coach.

In the Polls, Oregon moved up to number 5 in both the Associated Press and Coaches Poll. OSU fell to number 21 in the Coaches and 22nd in the AP.

Washington moved to number 3 after the last second field goal win in the Apple Cup.

In the Pac 12 title game Oregon will take on Washington in Las Vegas this Friday. The Ducks are favored.

NBA:

The Trail Blazers led for most of the game yesterday against Damian Lillard and the Milwaukee Bucks but couldn’t hold it losing 108 to 102. Jerami Grant had 22 points. Scoot Henderson finished with 13 in 27 minutes. Coach Chauncey Billups called the loss a ‘learning experience’ for the young team. The Blazers are back at it again today against the Pacers. Tip off is at 4.

CBB:

The Oregon men's team announced on Friday that both N’Faly Dante and Nate Bittle underwent successful surgeries this past week. The Ducks have been struggling without the two big men, losing their last couple of games.

NFL: 

The Seahawks are preparing for another Thursday night clash this time facing a red hot Dallas team.

San Francisco is riding high once again with a two game lead in the NFC West.

Local: 

High School playoffs-  Mountain View fell to Wilsonville in the Football 5A Final on Friday. The Cougars finish 12 and 1 settling for the 2nd place trophy.
