Ducks To Fiesta...Beavers in Sun Bowl

College Football:

Bowl game matchups were announced yesterday.

Number 8 ranked Oregon will play number 23 Liberty in the Fiesta Bowl in Arizona on New Year’s Day.  Coach Dan Lanning said yesterday that Quarterback Bo Nix is planning to play in the game. Other Ducks may transfer, or sit out the bowl game to prepare for the NFL Draft. We’ll know more on the transfer portal as the week goes along.

Number 19 Oregon State was selected for the Sun Bowl on December 29th and will face number 16 Notre Dame in El Paso, Texas.. We know that Quarterback DJ Uiagaleilei won’t play, and will transfer. Also lineman Taliese Fuaga and receiver Anthony Gould will not play, nor will suspended running back Damien Martinez.

Also on Friday Oregon State and Washington State football announced they would play six games against Mountain West Conference schools. The schools will fill out the schedule with Power 5 conference teams. Other sports will likely have similar schedules. Another court date for the Pac 2 schools to try to take control of conference assets is next week.

San Francisco started slow in Philadelphia but once they got rolling the Eagles had no answer as Brock Purdy and Deebo Samuel had break out performances in a chippy game that saw ejections and several scuffles. The Seahawks will have their work cut out for them this Sunday as they head to Santa Clara to face the 9ers. It was also announced over the weekend that the Week 15 game against the Eagles will now be on Monday night.
