Ducks MBB Wins...Beavs FB Land Transfers

College Football:

Former Oklahoma quarterback Dillon Gabriel could be another Heisman candidate for Oregon. Experts say he’ll be a favorite heading into the 2024 season. The U of O is also looking at finding somebody for Gabriel to throw to. Louisiana Tech wide receiver Cyrus Allen said on social media he received an offer to come to Eugene. Reports mention the Ducks talking to defensive players also, as the defensive backfield will need shoring up.

Oregon State DB Kitan Oladapo will play in the 2024 Senior Bowl.  He’s projected as a late round selection in the NFL Draft.

The Beavers have signed Northern Colorado Defensive Lineman Nick Norris. He joins Colorado center Van Wells as the other player announcing they’re coming to Corvallis this week.

NFL:

San Francisco is angling for a first round bye in the playoffs thanks to the Cowboys beating the Eagles Sunday night. The 49ers have a head to head tie-breaker over both teams. Coach Kyle Shanahan said at a press conference Monday cornerback Charvarius Ward and defensive tackle Javon Hargrave could be able to play Sunday against Arizona after both left with injuries during the win over Seattle.

The Seahawks four game losing streak is the first time that’s happened to the team since Pete Carrol became head coach in 2010. They had been the only team to not lose four in a row in that time. There are four games left in the season; the schedule may play to Seattle’s advantage for play-off hope. They host Philadelphia Monday night but then it’s the Steelers, Titans, and Cardinals. Quarterback Geno Smith is trying to work through a groin injury. Rookie cornerback Devon Witherspoon should be ready to play Monday after hurting his hip in Sunday’s loss.

College Basketball:

The Oregon Men beat California Baptist 76-55 at Matthew Knight Arena last night. The Ducks move to 8 and 2 on the season.
