OSU's Martinez Doubtful for Sun Bowl...Trail Blazers Try To Snap Losing Streak

College Football:

Oregon received a transfer commitment from Northwest Missouri State Running Back Jay Harris. The junior to be was a nominee for the Division II College Football Player of the Year this past season.  Safety Kobe Savage  is reportedly transferring to Eugene for his senior season after starting every game for Kansas State last season.  And Defensive Lineman Brandon Dorlus has accepted an invitation to February’s Senior Bowl. Big B is expected to be a late second-round pick in the NFL Draft.

Oregon State is preparing for next Friday’s Sun Bowl. Although Running Back Damien Martinez has been cleared to return to the team following a DUII charge getting dropped, interim coach Kefense Hynson told reporters yesterday that Martinez would be listed as doubtful since he may not be physically ready to play after missing practice time.  In other news out of Corvallis, OSU received three high school player commitments and one transfer portal commitment over the weekend. A bright spot after several player departures and decommits in the wake of Jonathon Smith stepping down as head coach.

Basketball:

NBA:

The Trail Blazers are 6 and 19 on the season, mired in a seven game losing streak. The bright spot is the team is getting healthy again and playing better but just can’t get all parts of the game going. A report yesterday says Portland is not looking at trading Jerami Grant. Blazers insider Danny Marang says the team wants to keep him for his veteran presence and high level of production. The Suns are in town tonight. Tip-off from the Moda Center is at 7.
