Blazers Win In OT...Seahawks Win, Miss Playoffs

NFL:

Seattle escaped with a win in Glendale yesterday beating the Cardinals 21-20, but the win was a hollow one as the Packers beat the Bears to keep the Seahawks from reaching the postseason. There are definite question marks about coach Pete Carrol and the direction for next season.

San Francisco lost 21 to 20 to the LA Rams yesterday. The 49ers will use their first round bye to recuperate several injuries on both sides of the ball including a sore calf from Christian McCaffery. The 9ers will play the lowest seed remaining from the upcoming Wild Card Weekend. It could very well be the same Rams team.

Basketball:

NBA-

The Trail Blazers came back to beat Brooklyn 134 to 127 in Overtime yesterday. Portland trailed for all but the final minutes of the 4th quarter. Anfernee Simons had 38 points and 11 assists, Jerami Grant scored 27, and Duop Reath had a double double with 13 rebounds to go with 15 points. It was the 10th victory of the season and snapped a three game losing streak. The Blazers are in Madison Square Garden to take on the Knicks tomorrow.

College Hoops-

The Oregon Men beat Washington State moving to 4 and 0 in the Pac 12 and riding a 5 game winning streak.

The Oregon State Men fell to Washington dropping to 1 and 3 in conference.

The Oregon State Women dropped to 12 and 2  after losing to 2nd ranked UCLA. The Beavers are 1 and 2 in conference play.

The Oregon Women are 0 and 3 after losing to number 9 USC yesterday.

College Football:

Oregon linebacker Jeffrey Bassa announced he will be returning for his senior season. He was considering entering the NFL Draft. Oregon's record holder for most catches in a season is staying in Eugene, too. Wide receiver Tez Johnson says he intends to stay another year.
