Blazers Blown Out By Boston...OSU Baseball Bumps Up In Polls...

NBA:

The Trail Blazers lost to Boston last night 121 to 99. There is a reason the Celtics have the best record in the NBA, but Portland had some good stretches. Four scorers reached double figures, but the short handed bench couldn’t keep up. Deandre Ayton had 22 and 15 to lead the Blazers. Atlanta visits next.

College Hoops:

Oregon State opens the Pac 12 tournament tomorrow afternoon against UCLA. The Beavers are the 12th seed taking on the five seed Bruins. The Ducks play the winner of OSU and the Bruins on Thursday afternoon. The Ducks need to make a run here to build a case for inclusion in the NCAA tournament.

The Oregon State women are ranked 12th in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll, up one spot after losing to Stanford in the tournament semi-final. College Basketball experts think the Beavers will be a three or four seed, and starting the opening round of the NCAA tourney in Corvallis.

College Baseball:

Oregon State moved up in the polls. They’re now 3rd from 6th in D1 baseball dot com, Perfect Game bumped them to 4th from 6th, they stayed 4th in Baseball America, and the coaches have them up two slots at number 3 in the country. The Baseball Writers did knock them back a peg, though, going from 5 to six. The Beavers begin conference play against Utah in Salt Lake City this weekend.

Oregon meanwhile is starting to creep up in the polls receiving votes in the writers’ and coaches’ but not quite cracking the Top 25.

NFL:

The Free Agency frenzy affected the Seahawks. They re-signed Defensive Lineman Leonard Williams and Tight End Noah Fant according to reports. Linebacker Jordyn Brooks is going to be signing with Miami, NFL sources say.

San Francisco has reportedly locked up a couple of edge rushers including Leonard Floyd coming off a career high 10 and a half sacks in Buffalo last season. The 49ers are expected to lose several players in free agency and may cut former Oregon Defensive Tackle Arik Armstead.
