OSU WBB Hosts As 3 Seed...Ducks MBB Gets 11 seed

College Hoops:

The Oregon men were seeded 11th in the Midwest Regional of the NCAA tournament yesterday.  The Ducks played their way into the tournament earning the automatic bid as the surprise Pac 12 champion, following their upset of Arizona on Friday in the semi-final, and holding off Colorado in the Final on Saturday. The Pac 12 had three teams get to the Big Dance with Arizona and Washington State getting at large bids. Next the U of O travels to Pittsburgh to play number six seed South Carolina Thursday. We’ll have the game here on KBND.

The Oregon State Women will host first round games for their regional. The Beavers earned a number three seed and will have number 14 Eastern Washington in Corvallis on Friday. The Pac 12 women have seven teams in the tournament in their final season as a conference.

NBA:

The Trail Blazers’ short road trip ends today in Chicago. Portland struggled to finish Saturday in New Orleans and let one slip away to the Pelicans. The team’s injury list has Jerami Grant Doubtful with a hamstring strain, and Matisse Thybulle is Questionable with his ankle. Neither one played Saturday. The Bulls are fighting for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and should give the Blazers a good run. Tip off is at 5.

College Baseball:

Oregon got the series win over Cal with a 10 to 3 victory at PK Park yesterday. They go to 4 and 2 in conference with two series wins, and 13 and 6 overall. The midweek loss to Portland last week may hurt their ranking chances this week.

The number 3 Beavers began conference play against Utah in Salt Lake City. They won the first two games of the series but yesterday couldn’t complete the sweep despite Travis Bazanna’s 5 for 6 effort with two homers. The Utes came away with a 14 to 10 win. It was the second loss of the season for Oregon State who opened the conference at 2 and 1. The Beavers play Portland tomorrow night.

College Softball:

Number 24 Oregon took their series with Utah with a 5 to 1 win yesterday, going to  4 and 2 in the conference.

Oregon State won their series against Arizona State getting them to 3 and 3 in conference.
