(Washington, DC) -- President Trump wants to stop Wall Street investment firms from buying up, in the thousands, single-family homes. During his State of the Union address on Tuesday night, Trump vowed to make home ownership more affordable. Trump said he signed an Executive Order to ban the firms from buying up the homes. (New York, NY) -- Consumers are slightly more upbeat about the economy. The Conference Board's Consumer Confidence Index edged up just over two-points in February. The board's chief economist said consumers' pessimistic outlook for the future "eased somewhat," but remained below the four-year peak reached in November 2024. Prices and inflation remain top concerns for many. Buying plans for big ticket items like cars, furniture and TVs ticked up for the next six months. However, home buying expectations were little changed.

(San Francisco, CA) -- Discord is postponing the global rollout of its age-verification feature until later in the year. The video-messaging app was going to launch a new measure next month that would give all users a "teen-appropriate experience" unless they were verified as adults. The news was received with heavy backlash by Discord users. In a Tuesday blog post, Discord's co-founder claimed "over 90 percent of users will never need to verify their age to continue using Discord exactly as they do today." He added, however, that the global rollout is being delayed until later this year so they can add more verification options.

According to a new plan the budget airline carrier unveiled in Bankruptcy Court on Tuesday, it will focus on high-demand travel periods and routes as well as expand premium-class seats to survive. Spirit has reached an agreement in principle with its creditors for the plan, and the company's CEO expects it to "emerge as a strong, leaner competitor." Spirit has already reduced some of its Airbus fleet as well as furloughed pilots and flight attendants to cut costs as it reduced its network.

Waymo rides are now available in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Atlanta, Orlando and Miami. The company says the service will start slowly in the new markets until more vehicles are added to the fleet, and that more cars will be available later this year.
