(New York, NY) -- The opening bell rings this morning after stocks closed higher yesterday on Wall Street. Chip stocks have rallied as investors gear up for Nvidia's earnings later today. At the closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 160 points to 53-577. The S&P 500 gained 24 points to 76-77. The Nasdaq rose 171 points to 26-151.

(Oakland, CA) -- Instagram head Adam Mosseri has been called to the stand in the latest social media addiction trial against Meta playing out in federal court in Oakland, California. Several state attorneys general are suing the tech giant, alleging it designed its social media platforms also including Facebook and WhatsApp to engage children and get them addicted. They also claim Meta mislead users about the safety of the apps. Meta has called those claims unsubstantiated.

(Abbeville, LA) -- SpaceX is building a 100-billion-dollar campus on the Louisiana coastline. The company says the spaceport will be designed to support thousands of launches annually. There will be five launch complexes, each with two launch pads. It will create three-thousand new jobs over the next ten years and they're promising annual salaries starting at 92-thousand dollars. Construction starts next year.

(Minneapolis, MN) -- Target shares fell nearly four percent Tuesday after backlash over a potentially offensive Halloween costume. The company apologized for the costume Monday, a children's clown outfit that some say evoked racist minstrel stereotypes, and pulled it from shelves and online sales. The stock fell as much as five percent during the day's trading. Tejal Patel, the director of Target shareholder SOC Investment Group, said the costume controversy is "another example in a chain of events where Target has lost trust with its consumer base."

(Frisco, TX) -- The golf company Callaway is apologizing over an ad for a new driver that following complaints that it depicts violence against women. The video was posted by its media partner Good Good Golf shows a woman reaching for the driver as the company's co-founder, Garrett Clark, rushes after her and knocks her to the ground. He stands over her and says "don't touch my driver." Good Good Golf took the video down after widespread online backlash. Callaway didn't mention whether it's reviewing its partnership with Good Good but said it will "learn from this and do better."

(Washington, DC) -- A company is recalling a lot of thyroid tablets because they could potentially be "superpotent." The FDA announced that the high potency 30 milligram tablets could cause hyperthyroidism, or an overactive thyroid. Consuming them could result in weight loss, heat intolerance, fatigue, chest pain, and other symptoms. Vitruvias Therapeutics is working on notifying wholesalers to stop distribution.
