>>Chevron To Double Oil Production In Venezuela
(Houston, TX) -- The only U.S. oil company operating in Venezuela says it plans to double its oil production in the country over the next five years. Chevron confirmed on Wednesday that it plans to invest another seven-billion dollars in Venezuela, increasing it's oil production to about 600-thousand barrels a day. The news comes after President Trump announced a deal last week to create a business partnership that would control Venezuelan oil fields containing about 65-billion barrels of petroleum. The layoffs do not include drivers and couriers who use the Uber platform. Uber says the move will make the company "simpler and faster" and allow it to invest in growth opportunities. It also says the cuts will help it consolidate management layers and trim costs, and are not related to AI. About 14-thousand-600 of Uber's global workforce is based in the U.S. Most work at its headquarters and offices in San Francisco and Sunnyvale.

In a new filing, the White House signaled support for OpenAI, saying that having a "robust" AI ecosystem is essential for national security and other government priorities. The Trump administration argued that OpenAI should be able to use copyrighted content to advance its technology.
