>>Ahead Of The Bell

(New York, NY)  --  The opening bell rings on Wall Street after stocks closed lower yesterday.  It comes as the ten-year Treasury note yield reached its highest level since April of 2002.  Elsewhere, the minutes from the Federal Reserve's September meeting revealed officials expect to raise interest rates again before the end of the year.  At the closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 341 points to 51-179.  The S&P 500 fell 17 points to 78-01. The Nasdaq dropped 61 points to 27-538.

>>Diesel Prices Hurting Truckers, Economy

(Wilmington, CA)  --  Record-high diesel prices are squeezing truckers and could mean higher prices for consumers.  Triple-A puts today's price for a gallon of diesel at six dollars and 28 cents.  Some drivers are paying more than eight dollars a gallon, up sharply from earlier this year, as the industry struggles with rising costs and a shrinking workforce.  Trucking companies say they may have to pass those costs on, while some operators are selling trucks or leaving the business.  President Trump has ordered agencies to look for ways to lower diesel prices, but analysts say it's not a long-term solution.  And the higher costs could reach grocery stores and other businesses in the months ahead.

>>Next Gen Roadster Coming This Month

(Undated)  --  The long awaited, and long delayed, next generation Tesla Roadster is coming soon.  CEO Elon Musk had teased October 1st as the unveiling date for the Roadster, but complications out of the company's hands have forced the roll out to be pushed back until October 15th.  Once the wraps are taken off, the public is expected to get a look at an all-new carbon-fiber hypercar, limited editions of which could reportedly come equipped with cold gas thrusters developed in collaboration with Musk's other venture, SpaceX.

>>McDonald's Sued For AI Pricing

(Chicago, IL)  --  McDonald's is facing a federal lawsuit accusing the company of using AI pricing tools that unfairly drive up menu prices.  The proposed class-action lawsuit claims the technology allows franchise locations to share non-public sales and pricing data, amounting to illegal price-fixing.  McDonald's denies the allegations, saying franchisees - not AI - set menu prices and that its pricing tools are optional.  The lawsuit comes as customers report paying significantly different prices for the same meals at different McDonald's locations.  The case could have broader implications as lawmakers and regulators across the country examine the use of AI to set consumer prices.

>>Super Bowl LXI To Stream On Disney+

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  Disney is adding another option for football fans to watch Super Bowl 61.  The company announced the big game in Los Angeles will be available to stream on Disney-Plus when it takes place on Valentine's Day.  The Disney-Plus livestream will be in addition to the game airing on ABC and ESPN.  Disney-Plus subscribers will have access to the traditional broadcast as well as the ESPN Deportes Spanish-language telecast.  The Super Bowl will also be available on Disney-Plus in more than 55 international markets.
