Police say 27 year old Jeffrey Doty of Bend and 22 year old Sergei Newlin faces robbery and assault charges.

They say a 24 year old victim agreed to meet with Doty and Newlin at the motel to purchase controlled substances and when he entered the room he was struck with a metal pipe and his money and pills were taken from him.

He suffered non life threatening injuries to his face and mouth.

The men were all acquaintances.
