Judge Convicts an Oregon Man of Robbing Bend's Columbia State Bank This June

Judge Michael Adler found Peterson guilty of robbery in the third degree and theft in the second degree Tuesday.

He was sentenced to 30 months in prison with 24 months post prison supervision.

The judge said when sentencing Peterson, despite the defendant being "polite" during the crime, it still constituted robbery.

Peterson walked into Bend's Columbia State Bank on June 16th this year and in a low voice told the teller, "I need you to do me a favor, I need you to pull out all the money in your drawer, starting with the hundreds and do not push any buttons or alarms."

Peterson was arrested in Stayton Oregon later that day and brought back to Deschutes County to face trial.
