SISTERS, OR -- A Sisters hiker reported missing Saturday evening, was found dead not far from his car. Family members grew concerned when 70-year old James Holcomb didn't return home after hiking in the Three Creeks Road area, south of Sisters. According to the Deschutes County Sheriff's office, he was prepared for the weather with proper clothing and supplies.
Search and Rescue volunteers were called in, however a deputy located Holcomb's body just after 8:30 pm, prior to their arrival. An initial investigation revealed Holcomb suffered a medical emergency and passed away several hours before he was found.
