REDMOND, OR -- An excavation crew struck a gas line in a northeast Redmond neighborhood, Tuesday afternoon. According to a Cascade Natural Gas supervisor at the scene, gas to the neighborhood was shut off as a precaution while crews repaired the leak.

A subcontractor for Sego Homes struck the line on NE Cheyenne Dr. near NE 5th Street just before 4 p.m. Children dropped off by a school bus in the area were escorted home by a Redmond Police officer.

CNG restored gas to the 67 impacted customers by 8 p.m. One home was evacuated until the leak was stopped. This is the second gas line struck by a Sego Homes crew in this neighborhood in less than 12 months.
