Boys And Girls Clubs of Redmond/Terrebonne Board Chair Resigns

REDMOND, OR -- The man largely credited with the current success of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Redmond/Terrebonne suddenly resigned from its Board of Directors this week. Paul Rodby served as Chair for over a year, including during the non-profit's split from the regional organization.

In his letter of resignation, obtained by KBND, Rodby cites personal reasons and his current workload as his reasons for leaving; Rodby owns the McDonalds franchise in Redmond. He urged current board members to support the Clubs' Executive Director Jenny O’Keefe, calling her a “strong leader.”

Rodby did not return KBND's request for comment.

O’Keefe issued the following statement:

Paul Rodby was without a doubt Boys & Girls Clubs of Redmond/Terrebonne’s greatest champion, rescuing the Clubs from closure, ensuring the community the opportunity to collectively develop a new organization to meet the unique and growing needs of families in Redmond/Terrebonne.

His efforts to raise the initial funding required to open the doors was a testament to his giant heart and devotion to kids!  Moving forward into our second year, we have already begun to restructure our Board and have been transitioning a new Board Chair into place for the next phase of progress.

Board members have been working with Paul to assume his duties and aid in taking the Clubs closer toward a plan for long term sustainability.  Paul’s resignation came sooner than anticipated, but BGCRT recognizes his contributions thus far and respects his need to devote his attention to his own personal and professional endeavors at this time.
