REDMOND, OR -- Redmond Airport passengers can now hail an Uber or Lyft from the terminal. The rideshare companies begin operating at the airport, Thursday. The drivers will work alongside taxi, town car and shuttle services at Roberts Field, thanks to a recent code change approved by Redmond City Councilors.
Drivers for the Transportation Network Companies (TNCs) will pick up passengers in a designated area on the west side of the terminal near the vendor parking lot. They must wait off airport property until they’re hailed through their respective mobile apps, and are not allowed to loiter at the airport. They are subject to inspections and are required to display a form of identification on the outside of their car, just like taxis.
