BEND, OR -- Shevlin Park is closed Thursday, to allow National Forest crews to conduct a 48-acre prescribed burn on the south side of Shevlin Park Road. The burn area stretches from Aspen Meadow to the covered bridge, east near the Tumalo Creek Trail and west near the old railroad grade. More information is available at the Bend Park and Rec website.
Bend Park and Recreation District officials encourage nearby residents to keep doors and windows closed through this evening. There could be some smoldering for a day or two.
