BEND, OR -- Five months into the Trump Administration, Americans remain divided about his Presidency, including Republicans. Former Bend Mayor Jeff Eager has been involved with the Deschutes Republicans. He says he hears concerns from local members of the GOP. "President Trump is definitely a President unlike any we've had. And, I think that many Republicans, at least the ones I talk to, like a lot of the policy things he's trying to do. But, then you just have some oddities in terms of the way he chooses to communicate and some of his decisions that aren't necessarily policy decisions."
The investigation into Russia's interference in the Presidential election continues, with a new focus on Trump's son-in-law and senior advisor, Jared Kushner. New polling shows support for the President in the high 30% range, with more than 50% of Americans disapproving of the job he's doing. Eager tells KBND News, "Most Republicans would agree that his Presidency is in a difficult spot right now, and we'll just see how that turns out."
