Bend Robbery Suspect Arrested in Redmond

BEND, OR -- A Bend robbery suspect was arrested Saturday evening, following a police chase that stretched into Redmond. Investigators say 36-year-old Jesse Kline of Bend threatened two people in the alley near Grocery Outlet, and demanded money. He allegedly hit a man in the head with a gun and drove off with an undisclosed amount of cash.   The victim was treated by medics at the scene.

About 15 minutes later, Kline’s van was seen on Highway 97, heading to Redmond. He stopped near SW 61st, but sped off as the officer approached. Bend Police terminated the pursuit as the van reached speeds of 80-90 mph, but Redmond PD spotted the van and tried to pull him over.

Kline eventually ran from his vehicle and was found hiding in a yard at SW 23rd and Salmon. He faces nearly a dozen charges, including Assault, Robbery, Driving While Suspended and a Probation Violation.
