PRINEVILLE, OR -- State Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspected poacher. On Saturday, OSP was notified of a dead buck deer north of Prineville, about a mile and a half from McKay Creek.

The deer was shot with a rifle during archery season, and a portion of one back-strap was removed, while the rest of the animal was left to waste.

Anyone with information is asked to call the OSP Fish and Wildlife Division or the "Turn In Poachers" (TIP) Line at 1-800-452-7888.
