SISTERS, OR -- A prescribed burn is planned for Tuesday on the Sisters Ranger District, two miles west of Lake Billy Chinook. The 155-acre burn is expected to be completed in a day.
The goal is to help create a greater combination of grasses and shrubs under large trees, to improve deer winter range. Madras and Redmond areas may see smoke, but fire managers say impacts should be minimal.
