Bend Schools to Receive Security Upgrades

BEND, OR -- Several schools in the Bend LaPine District are slated to receive security feature upgrades over the next two years.

The Elementary Schools affected are High Lakes, Lava Ridge, Pine Ridge, Ponderosa, William E. Miller, and Westside Village Magnet at Kingston.
Other schools on the list to receive upgrades are Sky View Middle School and Summit High school.
The design phase determining what the secure lobby upgrades will be is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2017.
The retrofits will be paid for out of the School Bond that was passed by voters last May. In addition, the bond will pay for the building of the new elementary school that will be located near OB Riley and Cooley Roads in NE Bend and the new High School, to be located at the corner of 15th and Knott Road in SE Bend.
