PRINEVILLE, OR -- A 53-year-old man reported missing Sunday morning, was found safe nearly eight hours later. The Crook County Sheriff's Office says Terry Gore was camping with his girlfriend in the Millican OHV area. The couple went for a walk together, but the woman returned to their vehicle when she got tired. After about seven hours, she was still waiting for him to return to their campsite.

Two people found her and called to report Gore missing, activating Crook County's Search and Rescue team. After about an hour of searching, he was found about a mile north of his campsite. Gore was conscious and alert, but complaining of dehydration and muscle soreness.

He was given a ride back to camp and reunited with his girlfriend.
