NW Redmond Brush Fire Burns 1.5 Acres of Canyon

REDMOND, OR -- Redmond Fire crews stopped a fire from spreading in the canyon off Northwest Helmholtz, Saturday. Firefighters discovered a slow-moving blaze in grass and brush behind a residential property, just after 10:30 a.m.

They attacked the fire from above and slowed its forward progress while crews accessed the canyon. It was held to about one-and-a-half acres.

Crews continued to check the area for hot spots over the next day. The cause of the fire was not released.
