Wrong-Way Cyclist Injured in Bend Crash

BEND, OR -- A bicyclist was seriously injured in a northeast Bend crash, Thursday evening. According to police, 51-year-old Darron Huskey was riding a bike, pulling a bike trailer, against traffic on Third Street, when he was struck by a Porsche, just before 5 p.m. Investigators say 73-year-old Robin Lisk made a right turn from Webster on to Third, and collided with Huskey, who was was traveling south in the northbound lanes. 

 

Huskey was not wearing a helmet. He was taken by ambulance to St. Charles Bend; Lisk was not hurt. NE Third was closed for about an hour for the investigation, which continues, Friday. No citations have been issued. Bend Police ask anyone who witnessed the crash to please call Non-Emergency Dispatch at 541-693-6911.
