DMV Closes Loophole In Vehicle Title Process

SALEM, OR -- Oregon’s Department of Motor Vehicles will no longer accept a dismantler’ bill of sale for totaled vehicles in place of a vehicle titled from that state. The Department’s Director, Tom McClellan says this mostly affects people who want to get an Oregon title for a Washington vehicle. McClellan also says that a criminal operation used Bills of sales from Washington to dispose of more than a thousand stolen vehicles over a seven-year period.
