REDMOND, OR  -- People who like food and enjoy cooking, are asked to consider becoming a Nutrition Education Volunteer. Katie Ahern at OSU Extension says they have a training class this Friday from 9am to 2pm at their office in Redmond. Volunteers are trained to go out in the community and demonstrate healthy recipes. This program focuses on peop-le receiving SNAP benefits. Once trained as a Nutrition Education Volunteer, participants must commit to lead six recipe demonstrations at local food pantries.
