Man Charged With Burglary And Assault

BEND, OR -- Bend Police were dispatched Wednesday morning to a liquor store on NE Highway 20 a report of a man who had stolen beer. Officers learned the man was 38-year old Andre Blalack.  A short time later dispatch informed officers that staff from a church and preschool reported a man, Blalack, was in front of the building saying there was a bomb.  Police went to the daycare location and determined there was no bomb. Later dispatch told officers that Blalack had broken into a house on Bear Creek Road and attacked two people, a 36 year old and a 15 year old female. Both suffered non-life threatening injuries. The women had a Restraining Order on Blalack.  Later, police found Blalack and he ran through several fields after being told he was under arrest.  Blalack was caught and is jailed on numerous charges including Burglary, Assault, and Strangulation.
